This lovely detached old farmhouse is set in glorious unspoilt Devonshire countryside on an 87-acre sheep farm, to which guests have access. Tastefully furnished and commanding superb views across the valley, the holiday home offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere from which to explore the area. Approached by a private road it has been carefully restored retaining lots of character and features exposed beams, inglenook fireplaces with electric `wood burners', alcoves and curved walls. Full central heating assures visitors of all-year warmth. It overlooks its own enclosed garden, with patio, garden furniture, Wendy house, and special barbecue cabin with seating for all-weather use. A converted barn nearby is the farmhouse games room - centrally heated and carpeted, it offers table tennis, 1/4-size snooker, table football and air hockey. Just 2 miles away is the historic port and market town of Bideford, with its variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, and from where regular sailing trips to Lundy Island can be taken. The fishing villages of Appledore and Clovelly are close by and are well worth a visit, as are a host of other quaint little villages, each with its own unique character, charm and welcoming inn. The Tarka Trail offers walking and cycling along the estuary with cycle hire available. Within easy driving distance is Hartland, where the dramatic English Heritage coastline has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. RHS Rosemoor Gardens, Tapley Park, Dartington Crystal, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way are all popular local family attractions. For surfers and beach lovers the sandy beaches are not to be missed. Westward Ho! (Blue Flag) can be reached in 15 minutes and many other attractive beaches are not far away. Fishing, sailing, horse riding and golf are available locally, and Exmoor National Park is within easy reach. Village pub serving food approximately 1 mile.
