In the small hamlet of Cary Fitzpaine between Glastonbury and Sherborne, this spacious corner Grade II converted barn, with exposed beams, flagstone floors and oak features, provides excellent holiday accommodation for ten, ideal for families and friends to unwind and enjoy this delightful county. It offers relaxing accommodation with a large entrance hall and living room, which adjoins a snooker room with a full sized table, and upstairs there are four double bedrooms (three with en-suite shower room) and one twin-bedded room, all which have been furnished and presented to a high standard. If not enjoying a few games of snooker, there are lovely country walks in the area, golf, fishing and some quaint village pubs to wine and dine in. Its location is ideal for family attractions to visit, in particular very nearby, Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum with its ‘aircraft carrier deck experience’ and the Haynes Motor Museum with its fascinating collection of vintage cars for a trip down memory lane. Within easy driving, the enchanting Glastonbury Tor is well worth a visit, for an invigorating walk to the top with spectacular views or perhaps Ham Hill Country Park at Stoke-sub-Hamdon, with its views across the county and into Devon. There are numerous historic houses to call in on, such as Montacute House and Gardens, Barrington Court, Forde Abbey and Gardens, and Stourhead House and Gardens to name a few, or within easy driving Sherborne with its abbeys and castle, or Wells Cathedral City with its fine cathedral and Bishop’s Palace. The popular Lyme Bay World Heritage Jurassic Coast, with its coastal resorts of Weymouth, Westbay and Lyme Regis, is well worth visiting, or if visitors wish to enjoy some shopping, restaurants and museums, try a day out in Bath, with its wonderful Roman baths and abbey.
