Picturesquely set on the East Suffolk Heritage Coast, Aldeburgh is best known for its connections with the composer Benjamin Britten. The annual acclaimed Arts and Music Festival is staged at the nearby Snape Maltings Concert Hall attracting many famous names and visitors. Aldeburgh appeals to all age groups; there is a thriving sailing community, two local golf courses, tennis courts and a cookery school as well as the popular Aldeburgh Carnival held every year in August.
