These five attractive cottages and apartments have been converted to a very good standard from a former farmhouse, dairy and cheese room high in the Peak District hills between the spa town of Buxton and Whaley Bridge. Named after the local reservoirs or valleys, they enjoy superb views over the open countryside and are very close to the fine scenery of the Goyt Valley. Each enjoys comfortable accommodation with Toddbrook and Kinder enjoying their own private balconies. There is a super swimming pool shared by all. There are many areas for you to sit and take in the views whilst you relax after a busy day out. Shallcross Hall Cottages provide a super base from which to explore all the area has to offer. There are superb walks literally from the door with Whaley Bridge offering a variety of pubs, restaurants and shops. There is so much to do and see with the attractive towns of Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock and Ashbourne all within easy reach. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Lyme Park (NT) are a must to visit. For families, take a day out to Alton Towers, or visit Crich Tramway Museum or Matlock Bath with its Heights of Abraham cable cars. Close by you will find the Chestnut Centre and Ethrow Country Park. There are many cycle trails in the Peak Park and you can combine cycling, walking, bird watching and watersports at Carsington Water. The popular caving village of Castleton with its Blue John and Speedwell caverns make for an interesting day. Hathersage, parts of which are described by Charlotte Bronte in the novel `Jane Eyre', and the plague village of Eyam are a short drive away. Shops and pub 11/2 miles.
