"Character cottages in a valley setting....within easy reach of the sea "

Nestling in a peaceful valley, these carefully converted barns and cottages lie just a short distance from the picturesque fishing villages of Polperro and Looe. Built of Cornish stone and with grey slate roofs, some of the holiday cottages date back to the 18th century, and retain original features such as high pitched ceilings, exposed rafters and natural stone walls. All the cottages have been furnished to a high standard. A shared parking area provides ample parking for each holiday cottage, which has its own garden, and additionally, there is shared access to 17 acres of the owner's natural grounds. A pleasing combination of secluded sandy beaches and appealing Cornish fishing villages are to be found along the south coast, just a short drive away, where the coast stretches out for some ten miles or so between Polperro and Polruan. Clinging to a hillside, Polruan is just one example of a `picture-postcard' village, whilst quaint Polperro - with its past smuggling connections and pilchard fishing - has its many admirers too. Closely linked with Daphne du Maurier, the estuary town of Fowey is home to the Literary Centre, where an exhibition outlines the author's life and works. The 15th-century church of St Fimbarrus, which stands as the focal point in the town, marks the traditional end of the ancient Saints' Way footpath - a route that links the north and south Cornish coasts. From the Esplanade, access is gained to several scenic walks around the coast as well as to the small beach of Readymoney Cove, whilst fine views of the estuary can be savoured from the nearby ruins of St Catherine's Castle. Handily situated just 3 miles from the A38, the cottages are situated in a location ideal for touring both the north and south coasts. Not far either is the magnificent Eden Project (15 miles) with its giant biomes reproducing the various climates of the world. Many quaint country pubs and restaurants are within a short drive.
