The Cotswold Waterpark sits on the outskirts of the charming market town of Cirencester. It is made up of almost 150 lakes and covers an area of 40 square miles. Nearly all of the lakes within the Waterpark were created from the extraction of gravel. Upon completion, they have been turned into areas for leisure and wildlife habitats. The Waterpark is renowned for offering a wonderful combination of water sports and nature reserves. Its position also makes it a great location for touring the Cotswolds. The bustling market town of Cirencester is just four miles away. Lower Mill Village is a nature lovers' paradise. It is set within the 500 acre Lower Mill Estate private nature reserve, which contains seven lakes, meadows, woodland and three meandering rivers. Its location within the heart of the Estate means that you'll enjoy a wonderfully tranquil setting and an abundance of wildlife including foxes, badgers, otters, coots, kingfishers and a wealth of other birds. Modelled on the style of local villages, the honey coloured, Cotswold stone cottages nestle around the lakes, small rivers and streams. The Estate provides a wide range of activities including an outdoor heated swimming pool (available Easter to the end of October and over the Christmas and New Year period), tennis, table tennis, fishing on several of the lakes, sauna, trampoline and a huge number of walks throughout the nature reserve. An organic farm shop is on the Estate and there is a pub within walking distance in nearby Somerford Keynes.
