With beautiful views across the valley and down to the river, this spacious detached cottage lies just minutes away from the sandy beach of Pentewan. Occupying an elevated position, it is set within 3½ acres of grounds, where guests are free to roam and discover natural water features and various seating areas at which to pause and take in the view. Steps from the terraced region of the garden lead down to a level area which provides a wonderful secluded spot in which to relax and where a swim in the <strong>outdoor heated swimming-pool</strong> can be enjoyed during the months May to September.<br />Running alongside the river that can be seen from the house is the Pentewan cycle trail, and within easy reach are several golf courses, and horse riding and water sport facilities. Not far is the picturesque harbour of Mevagissey, whilst many of the local places immortalised by the novelist Daphne Du Maurier lie close to hand – places such as Fowey, Par and Menabilly. To the west of Mevagissey visitors will find Hemmick Point which is an excellent spot for swimming with rocky outcrops affording a measure of privacy. Heritage sites of note meriting a whole day’s visit include the wonderous Lost Gardens of Heligan, and Lanhydrock House and gardens.<br />Another more recent attraction to see is the much-visited Eden Project, which provides a unique opportunity to observe a diversity of habitats from around the world, recreated on one site within three separate domes.
